Disney's The Princess and The Frog Soundtrack - Hear it in full online

Seeing as this is being released on Friday, I figured it'd be an appropriate time to post this. Check out the soundtrack, featuring Ne-Yo. Yep. Credit goes to ThinkTank Marketing for the following info.
Walt Disney Pictures' highly anticipated animated masterpiece, 'The Princess and the Frog' will have its official wide release this Friday, December 11th! In the meantime, everyone has been bumping the film's official soundtrack, which includes a lively collection of original songs and an orchestral score by Randy Newman, and Ne-Yo's romantic pop ballad, "Never Knew I Needed". Elton John, the man behind the award-winning soundtrack for 'The Lion King' has nothing but praise for Disney's decision to bring Newman on board for the film's music: "Randy Newman is, for me, an American treasure.... One of my favorite writers of all time, before he started writing for God knows how many animation movies with Pixar and Disney. This could be one of the best Disney scores ever, because I think he's fantastic." Chief Creative Officer for Pixar/Walt Disney Animation Studios, John Lasseter, also weighed about the significance of this particular soundtrack: "The songs in 'The Princess and the Frog' are so key to advancing the story, and also to really introducing the characters and learning about the characters; what they're about, what they want, what's inside them." New Moon breaks The Dark Knight single day record

So, as much as alot of people will hate to know this, it seems as though New Moon did it. HARD. The following from ComingSoon.net
After setting a new record for midnight openings with $26.27 million at 3,514 theaters, Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: New Moon has also broken the record for a single day, earning $72.7 million on Friday at 4,024 theaters. The previous single day record of $67.2 million was held by The Dark Knight.

It looks like
The Dark Knight's 3-day record of $158 million may be in jeopardy now as well.
Surprised, but expected I suppose. We'll have more as it develops. Kazed

100 Years of Special Effects

A video I stumbled upon during my Dan time. Found it quite interesting and it really does make you realise just how much of an impact special effects have had on the industry. What would films look like without it? What will films be in another 100 years?

Exciting eh? Dan

Ridiculous Fan hospitalised at 'Robsessed' premiere over Robert Pattinson poster

I had to post this, courtesy of The Revolver Group.
A young fan of Twilight heart-throb Robert Pattinson was hospitalised on Sunday night after a scrap with another girl over a poster. The fan was one of 300 competition winners who had won tickets to the world fan premiere of new DVD Robsessed, out this week. Free posters were distributed at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester square where the event took place. "A massive fight broke out between two girls over the last poster" said Precious Acabousi, 19 from Surrey, who was at the premiere. "There was a lot of pushing and shoving, everyone was crowding around them" "I heard gasps as one of the girls fell on the floor, she was in terrible pain and had twisted her arm - she was screaming for help. The poster had been ripped in two" The fan, who cannont be named for legal reasons, was driven to hospital immediately and missed the screening "The Robert Pattinson fans, also known as the Robesessed, are the most hardcore of fanatics" said a spokesman for the dvd, "we had plenty of posters printed, but obviously some people picked up more than others, and so the fight broke out"
Kids, take this in. This ISN'T healthy behaviour. Thanks to the Revolver Group for that. Kazed
