10 Great Studio Ghibli Films
Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli never ceases to amaze audiences with their illustrious and fantastical animations. The following top 10 list takes a closer look at some of the studio’s greatest pictures. Read more0
When this film released, there was so much hubbub around it; Dev Patel this, and Jai Ho that. Don't get me wrong - performances were incredible, but really, there was nothing really iconic about this. At the end of the film, I was left with a "this is shit" feeling, but that's not saying the film was, it was just how I felt.
4. The Hangover
Ahh, what to say about this. Probably the most overrated in this list, but not so high up, only because #1 is a kicker. Hangover is a film that delivered and deserved reasonable laughs, but to think that this was one of the most well-received films of recent times just boggles the mind. I can think of a number of films that were much funnier than this but didn't get as well a response as this. Then again, it's all a matter of opinion.
3. Reservoir Dogs
WHAT? How is this on the list? Give me a chance to explain. Reservoir Dogs is not a bad film, it fact it's a great film. But to think that it's been classed as one of the greatest films of all time is something that I just can't figure out. It's a great film, it has an amazing concept, it's damn sure an influential-as-hell film, but it is not, by ANY stretch of the imagination one of the greatest. I don't get it. I just don't get it at all.
2. Avatar
Alright, alright. One moment I'm praising this film then the other I'm trashing it? Yup. Overrated. I think I pretty much covered the main points of why this film is overrated in my recent 're-review' of the film, you can check it out HERE.
1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
This right here, is the grandaddy of overhypedom. Maybe it's because I'm a little too judgemental when it comes to film, or maybe it's just because this film was far too 'abstract' for me. Yes, it's open to interpretation, yes, it's been in countless 'overrated' lists, but it's deservedly so. It's visual annoyances are NOT what I would call entertaining. There were parts in the film I had actually enjoyed, but that was a total of about 20 minutes. This film was in space, and it certainly was odd...yssey.

Five of the most overrated films of all time
These are five films which I believe have been given too much credit than they're due. Don't get me wrong, a couple of these films of the list do have their plus points, and they're not all bad films. Just don't mistake this list for anything else; these films are great in their own right, they're just the biggest pieces of over hyped balls you'll ever see. Note: this article doesn't necessarily reflect the opinions of others on the site. 5. Slumdog Millionaire
When this film released, there was so much hubbub around it; Dev Patel this, and Jai Ho that. Don't get me wrong - performances were incredible, but really, there was nothing really iconic about this. Review of the Spider-Man (2002-2007) series of films
Off the heels of an exciting NYCC, I figured I'd review a trilogy that's had it's fair share of controversy (of course I'm talking about Spider-Man 3) as well as it's fair share of loving fans. I think when the first Spider-Man came out around 9 or so years ago, people were amazed and excited at the release of the film. That, and that it was the most decent comic-book film adaptation to have released in recent times. It had it all - great story, brilliant references to it's comic counterpart, and a great cast to boot. I guess what lacked from these films was Spidey's comic humour. This was a major part of his character that was absent from the on-screen version for some reason. He was a lot less wittier than I was used to, but it didn't seem to matter - it worked well for the films. I don't have many negatives to say about Spider-Man (1 &2), but the third. Oh the third. Why the film was how it was is beyond me. Now now, it had it's moments, but there were other problems with this film which led to it being the least critically-popular film in the trilogy. The problem was, there were too many primary characters in the film, and they were all dying for screentime. Venom, Sandman, 'New Goblin' - REALLY!? That's THREE (slash two) villains in this film? Now that's just major overkill. There was far too much going on; Sandman had problems, Eddie Brock was a jealous little shit, and New Goblin- Well he had his own shit to deal with. I got what he was all about; the revenge, I understood, fine, but the name. Why did the name have to be so damn generic? Why not something cool like Dyno Goblin or some shit!? Sigh. Now that The Amazing Spider-Man is just over the horizon and having seen some exclusive footage at this year's EMPIRE BIG SCREEN, I can safely bet my soul sand say that this 'reboot' is going to be my most anticipated film of next year, and will most probably be the most Amazing one yet. Pun definitely intended.0
This is a great one. The scene where Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) tries to be a badass and jump over two buildings was a great moment in Kick-Ass. With this music added, it just makes the scene work so well. The build-up, the feeling as though you're going to fly, then the realisation that you're actually a bit of a pussy; all of this was contained in this short, but great little piece of music that reflected it's counterpart ever so well.
This one right here is a little more subtle than the last, yet it provides an inspirational factor that many scores have. I remember watching this so many years back, and remember how warm it felt listening to the theme. I bought the boxset and had to listen to the theme on every episode. It was a brilliant opener for one of the most epic television shows to grace the airwaves in the past decade.
I guess this could be the one that got me excited about the scores in Film and TV. Aside from being the epitome and the catalyst of (good)Comic-Book films, the score for Spider-Man was a fitting score for the film. The theme, in particular had again, reflected scenes in the film perfectly. 1:00 into this video was the sound of Spider-Man soaring through the New York air, and a little towards the end of the clip, 2:37 to be exact, is the realisation that Peter Parker is, and always will be Spider-Man.
X-Men: First Class was a fantastic film, but the soundtrack was brilliant. In particular, this piece of music I've selected. When this music began playing in it's respective scene, it juts felt like a training scene. Had it not been for the music, the scene would have felt flat and would've failed to make as big an impact as it did with this piece. The most notable part for this particular piece of music though was the moment where Erik (Fassbender) harnesses his true power without ever having to become angry. This was truly a shining moment in the film and the soundtrack.
Ahh. I had to test this one out to be sure. The second that bell rings, boom, shivers/goosebumps. In comparison to Band of Brothers, the show fell slightly short below it's predecessor, but that's not to say it wasn't good. It was way above average, but the soundtrack had far succeeded Brother's, as demonstrated in this piece. There are't a lot of words to describe what and how Honor represents Pacific, but I know that it's well deserved being top on this list. Damn, I seriously have no words!
Now it's your turn: What're YOUR top 5 pieces of music in TV/Film?

Kazed Blogs: 5 pieces of Music in Film/TV that give me goosebumps
I'm a huge lover of music in Film/TV, and without the music, the Film/TV show would fall apart. It is the glue that holds the Film or TV Show together. I've compiled a small list of pieces of music I particularly love, and are the ones I find most effective in it's respective media. Now this list isn't just a random ol' list of five pieces of music I think were cool. No no, these are pieces of music that give me goosebumps. That give me shivers all the way down to the base of my foot. These are the pieces of music that are my Top Five, if you will.
