While it may not be an action packed movie it certainly was an absolute treat for the peepers, and made my heart swell with joy. My only negative points being it was a little bit slow to start, and there was a super cheesy farewell between Arrietty and the young boy, but it was still lovely, and I left feeling very enchanted.
Well done Ghibli. 7/10.

Lola Reviews: Captain America (2011)
I have to write a review about this movie, as I thought it was spectacular. I have seen however, that some others beg to differ (Kazed - grr) and I suppose in a way this could be seen as an argument for the movie, rather than a review. But who the hell cares, I'm going to do it anyway. This movie was always going to be a little bit awesome, just for the simple fact that it's about Captain America. He's awesome, he's american...and ladies, he's really sexy. Casting Chris Evans as Steve Rogers was a genius touch, as we see in the beginning of the movie he can look equally dorky as he can look majestic. Dorky Steve Rogers was brilliant. My sister watched the movie with me and until I pointed it out she had absolutely no idea that the body didn't belong to the actor. Awesome. I really liked the rest of the casting, especially Dominic Cooper playing Howard Stark (Swoon!). Hugo Weaving as Red Skull was a nice touch also, playing the villain role exceptionally well, as he usually does. The story itself was magic in that it was simply and brilliantly a comic book movie. It didn't try to stay within the limits of what people might conceive as believable, instead it was ridiculous and unbelievable, but also awesome - like every comic book is. I could go on about the movie, but I know i'm going to just blab on and on. Basically, it's a great comic book adaptation. And if you're still on a high from the Thor movie, make sure you stick around until the end for a super exciting teaser trailer.... 8/10 Ps Sorry for the excessive use of the word 'awesome', but once you see the movie i'm pretty sure it'll be the one word you use to describe it

Lola reviews: Machete (2010)
I don’t really know how to explain this film in a proper review-type-fashion? So I'm going to bullet point words which express my views: ridiculous sexy amazing unbelievable hilarious mexican explosive Basically, Machete is amazing. It’s ridiculous in a BRILLIANT way, and absolutely hilarious. You get to see Jessica Alba naked, Danny Trejo use a living mans intestines to swing out of one window and smash through a window on the floor below, Lindsay Lohan have a threesome with Trejo and her on-screen mother, and also, Michelle Rodriguez is so sexy in it, I almost wanted to dump my boyfriend and start a worldwide hunt to make her my girlfriend. It’s so strange, that when you go and see it, you’ll understand my inability to write a proper review for it, but I will go as far to say that it is the best movie I have seen in a long time. Well done Rodriquez. 10/10 Thats right. TEN OUT OF TEN.0
Lola reviews: 127 Hours (2011)
I initially went to see this movie because I have a massive I-should-be-ashamed-of-myself crush on James Franco. I’m not really familiar with Danny Boyle’s work, and have never seen what I presume is his most successful movie Trainspotting . I knew he must be good, however, as my boyfriend happily watched this with me on our one year anniversary knowing I’d spend the entire time gawping at Franco. Awesome! The film is an adaptation of Aron Ralston’s autobiography ‘Between a Rock and a Hard Place’ which tells the amazing story of how the cocky climber had to amputate his own lower right arm whilst stuck in a canyon. While solo-canyoneering in Blue John Canyon (Utah) Ralston fell down a pretty huge crack and as he fell, a boulder fell with him, landing on, and ultimately crushing, his right forearm. Ralston was stuck for five days, with hardly any food, and a limited supply of water. Dehydrated, and delirious (and after being forced to drink his own urine - gross) Ralston decides his only way of surviving is to perform an amputation on his own arm. Wow. It was pretty brutal, and according to Metro.co.uk “during the film's first public screening three people reportedly fainted and one person suffered a seizure” whilst witnessing the amputation scene. It has also been compared to the Exorcist, as one of the most shocking scenes in film history. Yes it was gory, he hacked off his own arm with a blunt multi-use tool, but ultimately an excellent way of showing what really happened. It’s not excessively bloody, it stays true to the real life horror this man was faced with, without turning it into a gore-fest. This film is incredible for a number of reasons: The scenery is absolutely stunning. So much so, it WILL make you want to hop on a plane and wander around canyons for the rest of your days. Second, it is a true story which is always amazing. It shows Ralston’s realisation of the fact, that he is stuck there because he was too arrogant and cocky to tell anyone where he was going. Therefore, no one knew where to look for him. You witness this realisation, his acceptance of the fact he’s going to die, and then the complete focus he has on not giving up. Finally, Franco’s performance was amazing. He wasn’t sexy in this movie, he was dying. He wasn’t one of those ‘oh i’m minutes away from death, yet somehow i’ve got lipgloss on’ kind of actors, he was raw, emotional, and incredible; Chapped lips ‘n’ all. Well done Franco. Oh, and a little note, although the movie is about a man who is stuck in a canyon for 127 hours, the movie doesn’t drag which I kind of expected it to. Bravo Boyle, that must have been tricky, but you succeeded! Overall, I was massively impressed with this movie. Go see it now! 9/100
