Empire Big Screen Event: Saturday - Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Contagion and Final Destination 5
Continuing with the reports, lucky us had Guy Ritchie talking about Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and the current progress of it. Ritchie had said that the film "Is close to finishing...", it "picks up almost where it left off..." and has a "few details left" before it's release later this year. After this, he showed us some cool footage of the film, semi-completed, at that, like a lot of the footage we saw. Admittedly, I still need to watch the first film in the franchise, so while I still need to watch the first film, I still understood what I was seeing. Next up was Contagion. The nice little piece of footage basically showed how the Virus is contracted across the world. The footage was nicely edited, showing a little caption at the bottom of the screen with the respective countries' population. It went across through a few countries, and if I'm not mistaken, the virus seemed to be able to spread through a telephone line, which is interesting. Although I may be wrong. The next one was a surprising piece for me, Final Destination 5. They gave us a cool look at the first scene, which was the traditional 'premonition'. Admittedly, it was actually better than the last film, which felt like a straight-to-DVD release. What they've done this time around is found new ways to kill people. Fine, that's what they do every time, but this time it's a little more inventive. The way they've kept the franchise alive is by finding new and innovative ways to kill each of the characters, and ultimately this, is what keeps a film interesting and fresh. Let's hope the rest of the film is as cool as the opening scene.0
Empire Big Screen Event: Saturday -Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 write up *SPOILERS*
This was an amazing event. Truly amazing. We got to see exclusive footage from Spider-Man, and man... wow... wow. Unfortunately, we don't have any footage to show you, but something tells me the wonders of technology will help us out. Until then, I can at least describe what I saw. I'm gonna separate all the footage I saw in different posts, just so it's more readable starting with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. This was introduced to us by the lovely MyAnna Buring, who plays 'Tanya' in the film, who leads the 'Denali Coven' in Alaska. Anyway the footage we were shown were the Honeymoon scenes as well as a scene with something going on with the Werewolves. Then kind of a trailer too. The Honeymoon sequence involved Edward carrying Bella into a honeymoon suite, and they exchange some pretty friendly banter, and it's pretty clear what Edward wants to do, that skeevy little perve. Good ol' innocent Bella just wants to chill out and not do the deed. So Edward wants to go for a swim, trying to find a way for Bella to get out of her clothes by any means possible. GOD what a perve. Bella prepares herself by brushing her teeth, shaving her legs, and other womanly stuff. So eventually, Bella is down to just a towel, and meets Edward on the beachside outside their suite. Naked, of course. That's where that clip ended. The other one, the Werewolf scene, was pretty much Jacob saying some stuff to the Cullens, then meeting up with some of his pack to do something. I wasn't paying much attention at this point because some guy's camera got confiscated when he was taking pictures LOL. Then we were shown a trailer(ish) with a bunch of random clips from the film. The clip ended with MyAnna had said that the first part was 'more romantic' with the second being 'more action'. Breaking Dawn releases November of this year.0
Dark Knight Rises trailer to premiere before Harry Potter?
So one of our writers, Martyn, just brought this to my attention, something which definitely makes me want to watch Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows pt. 2 even more. I'd like to point out that usually on Movieville we only cover things which aren't 'rumours' or confirmed. But, every so often, there comes along a piece of news which is just too big to pass up(the following from NME.com).I mean, if THAT isn't enough for you to want to watch Harry Potter, then what is?! Either way, I'll still be checking the Harry Potter out. Deathly Hallows hits theatres July 15.Rumours are swirling that fans will get their first glimpse of an official teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before the final instalment of Harry Potter. The news, cited by Superherohype, comes from a 'trustworthy source', quite possibly a projectionist already putting together the trailer sets for the final wizard film. The source says the trailer will be a minute and 33 seconds in length.
