Muni on TV: 6 shows I've been watching

First and foremost I would like to start of my apologising for not writing on here every month as I has intended to, third year of university took more out of me then I thought it would, but now that I’m home and unemployed, I got time on my hands so I'll be reviewing TV shows and movies a lot. Enjoy, and if you want me to talk about shows that you think I should then let me know in the comments below. Peace! Made in Chelsea – E4 So I’ve been watching this on E4, it’s like the British version of, “THE HILLS,” yes it has your clichéd characters and storylines filmed as a documentary. There’s already a show on ITV 2 called, “the only was is Essex” and you may think this is like that, and in a way it is, but it is so much better. It is shot in a better style then the latter, and does a good job to keep the viewer interested with better storylines.  I would recommend it if you’re a fan of the hills and such program one for the ladies but always a fun watch. The Apprentice UK – BBC 1 So were five weeks in and I don’t know what season we're on (seven?) anyway this that being said this time around the contestants have a chance to go into business with Alan sugar. We have our usual candidates: brash, annoying, funny, winners and losers. There’s no one who stands out at the moment but Jim is doing a good job mind controlling everyone in the house. Apart from that, Kazed likes Melody, worth a watch if you’re a fan. Lead Balloon – BBC 2 The fourth season of comedy show led by Jack Dee only started last week and already had me in fits! I love this show the dry humour and the relationship Jack’s character has with the rest of his family is amazing. The first episode was very funny and the pig was very cute. Would recommend this to anyone who loves Jack Dee and his honour. Geordie Shore – MTV Jersey shore spin off, based in Newcastle has the same premise off Jersey Shore 8 housemates get together and live in an ultra luxury apartment, they get pissed and pull lads and birds. The show is pretty self explanatory but if you liked Jersey you will enjoy Geordie, with there unique slang and way of life its always a fun watch. Game of Thrones – HBO So HBO have come leaps and bounds over the past few years, with amazing shows like the Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, and now Game of thrones, this fantasy drama staring Sean Bean has it all: Great story, fantastic actors and is beautifully shot. If you like shows like the ones previously mentioned then this is definitely one for you.  A great story that I would recommend to anyone who wants to watch a good show over the summer. Tough Enough – USA Better late then never, there’s only one more episode left on TE, but don’t let that stop you from downloading (the legal way) the past episodes and watching them. This show has been away for a while but its back with a new host and new trainers. The cast themselves are amazing to watch with a Miss USA in there too! If you’re a wrestling fan and enjoyed the previous seasons then you will definitely love to watch this. Muni.

Kazed's Take: The Expendables(2010) review

Synopsis: A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. I wasn't expecting Oscar-winning film, I wasn't even expecting oscar-nominating material, but I appreciated this film for what it was: mindless violence. That's all I was expecting The Expendables to be, and that's all it was. The performances were acceptable, wasn't very impressed to be honest, there were few moments when I thought "Hey, this could be worth something...I think we might have something here.." NO. WRONG. There was NOTHING. It made me sick. It was pathetic. No, I kid. It wasn't that bad, just nothing to write home about. Action scenes were as expected, pretty effin' badass, Statham perfoming his stunts, Steve Austin being a bodyguard beatin' up people, explosions left and right, bullets and blood flying all over the damn place,  it was a massacre. A freakin' massacre. Like I said, for what it was(mindless violence), it was pretty cool in that respect, but as a film, not much happening in that department, it was incoherent at parts, the editing in certain parts of the film was below average- but, because the cast was as big as it was, that, in itself was pretty cool. A fun, action-packed film, with a cast for the ages. 6.5, just because it was so freakin' awesome. Kazed

The Expendables (2010)

Sly is in good shape. Just in case you're wondering. Statham too. But we already knew that from his high speed marathon films (see Crank now if you haven't see it already!!). The expendables story isn't much deeper than what you get from the trailer. It's a bunch of Harley riding mercs that get booked for a job that's dirty and gets them into contrived, cheesy trouble with contrived, cheesy latin amercian soldiers on a contrived and cheesy made up South American island, that is strangely titled after the internet craze of picturing yourself naked with your bum in the air. (Google 'Vilena' and you'll see what I mean. Yes, granted there's no depth, no real frills, no surprises, a bag of money, and a reasonably helpless damsel in distress. All ingredients for fairly lame action film. And really it should never have been made - if it was someone else that made it. Fortunately Mr Stallone still knows how to entertain. So to understand this 'thing' that he's made, spare a thought for the evolution of the action film during the eighties: The poor divorced cop in a vest stuck in the Nakatomi building; The broke kung fu master stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time, probably in the wrong era; The big black guy with the big black machine gun that always save the day with by blowing everything up; The emotionally confused ex-soldier that takes mission after deadly mission in the urban jungles of the world to 'find himself'; And the traditionally European backstabbing anti-hero that never dies, no matter how many times you shoot, crash, ram, smack, shoot again and cut him; Do this and you will start to appreciate what an entertaining and strangely humorous film this is. Don't ask for more, don't peel back the layers. Save that for the French Art-house independent experimentalists at Cannes. Just eat your nachos and pop corn, and sit back and watch every explosion, every fight (yes Lundgren vs Li,  Austin Vs Couture, and Sly vs Austin, Statham vs pretty-much-everyone-in-a-uniform...), every car chase, plane ride, and every macho standoff and let ham be ham. Keep your expectables low and The Expendables will certainly entertain. 7/10 Kushal

Not long ago, I posted the leaked trailer for The Expendables, which, has been taken down, so here we have another, better quality Promo trailer for The Expendables, courtesy of FirstShowing.net

As before, still looks badass, even moreso in HQ.
