I like the way this looks. Sure, it may look like a typical rom-com type dealie, but the cast is something to admire. Crazy Stupid Love releases in September. Kazed

New Despicable Me(2010) Clips

Check these out, new clips from Despicable Me, the new animated feature starring Steve Carell(The Office, Dinner For Schmucks), Jason Segel(Forgetting Sarah Marshall), and Russell Brand(Get Him to The Greek). Synopsis: In a happy suburban neighbourhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbours, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal’s new 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me. Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. One of the world’s greatest super-villains has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes. Clip 1: Gru talks to his mother while she Kung Fus
Clip 2: Gru tells his minions his next plan
Clip 3: Gru tries to get girls to sleep
LOL, sweet. This looks hilarious, Carell just has a voice you simply HAVE to laugh at. Well, not that funny. Still laughable. Kazed.

Dinner For Schmucks(2010) review

Synopsis: Tim (Paul Rudd) is a rising executive who "succeeds" in finding the perfect guest, IRS employee Barry (Steve Carell), for his boss's monthly event, a so-called "dinner for idiots," which offers certain advantages to the exec who shows up with the biggest buffoon. Usually, Steve Carell doesn't impress me in some of his theatrical feats(40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, Evan Almighty), but Dinner For Schmucks was a huge exception. In the past films, I thought that at times Carell overacted, tried a little hard to be funny. In Schmucks, this was not that case. There was not a moment throughout the entire film I didn't find funny.Even just a little. I did. I even pissed myself. I did. The plot itself was unique, although towards the end it began to get a little cliché, but still retained it's principal humour. Carell and Rudd made a great team, the chemistry was there, but it just felt quite flat during some of the dialogue scenes. The humour was there, but the charisma wasn't. Schmucks was a great watch, but still lacked some of the humour that both Rudd and Carell have showcased at their strongest.

Date Night(2010) review

Synopsis: In New York City, a case of mistaken identity turns a bored married couple's attempt at a glamorous and romantic evening into something more thrilling and dangerous. Unlike other films Steve Carell has starred in, I thought this one was probably the most I laughed at. I think his other (Namely 40 Year Old Virgin, Get Smart, and Anchorman) exploits weren't as humorous as this. He tends to be a lot more funny when he isn't actually acting, if that makes sense. His 'improv' style is far more effective than say, how he was in Anchorman. The first half of the film, the chemistry between the two protagonists (Tina Fey, Carell) was pretty much non-existent, but slowly, this became one of the primary plot lines. The gradual transition from the 'distance' between the couple to solidarity of their relationship was really well done; there wasn't a sudden jump into the 'bright-side' of the relationship, making it more effective. There were moments in the film which I didn't agree with, example being the conjoined cars scene. It seemed quite unnecessary, it became too slapstick-ish. Other than a few minor negative segments in the film, Date Night was most probably one of Carell's impressive films, Fey once again impressed me. 6/10 Kazed

Steve Carell & Tina Fey in 'Date Night'

In my opinion, two of the best comedians of my generation(well, not mine, I guess they're pretty old, but still, whatever) get together in what looks to be an amazing film. Kristin Wiig, James Franco, are just a couple of names among the all star cast in this comedy set to hit us April 9, 2010.
'Date Night' revolves around a bored married couple, Claire and Phil Foster, and one glamorous night out on the town. But, the date night they planned turn disastrous when it leads to a real case of mistaken identity, a Mob effort to kill them and an Odyssean getaway through New York City's nightscape. - AceShowbiz
