John Carter (2012) teaser trailer

With all the trailers this week, you would think that the studios are trying to tell us something! It would probably sound something like 'go and watch this', but whatever, we here at Movieville just want to keep you up to date. We've had Sherlock Holmes, The Dark Knight Rises, Hugo, The Thing in the space of just two days! now here's another: John Carter, Disney's next shot at a live action franchise comes to life in this short yet poignant teaser. Accompanied by a decaying rendition of Arcade Fire's 'My Body Is a Cage' howled by Peter Gabriel, the visuals take us through many beautiful landscapes populated by interesting characters. If I had kids (not a hint Lauren) I'm sure they would be waiting eagerly for this. It just feels like a film I would have been crazy about, just being excited by the idea of the cinema, let alone the film I'd see just doesn't happen anymore, yet this reminds me of when I would watch the teaser for Toy Story, and beg to go. John Carter you have snuck into my good books on the basis of my nostalgia and acceptance of nerdy story lines, please don't disappoint!!! John Carter hits cinemas on the 9th of March 2012 in both 2d and 3d

Check this out: New Tron:Uprising trailer

This is somewhat interesting, although not too sure how far this can go. I love the idea of mixing 2D and 3D animation together, it's so Johnny Quest. I have a feeling, though that the trailer is making the show seem too awesome than it actually is. Much like Johnny Quest, which I only watched for the awesome 3D parts. No I kid, but seriously, it could do some good if it has a decent mix of both 3D an 2D animation. That, and a decent plot to the whole thing. On top of all this, it has an amazing voice cast, including Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Mandy Moore, to name a few. Tron: Uprising debuts toward the end of the year. Big thanks to SlashFilm for the trailer. Kazed.

Easy A (2010) review

Synopsis: After a little white lie about losing her virginity gets out, a clean cut high school girl sees her life paralleling Hester Prynne's in "The Scarlet Letter," which she is currently studying in school - until she decides to use the rumor mill to advance her social and financial standing. Walking into the screening with my hopes at a 45º angle, expecting something somewhat worthwhile. Being an admirer of Emma Stone(The House Bunny, Superbad, Zombieland)'s lovely, unique performances, I was expecting a lot of the charisma she brought into her previous works. This isn't to say that she's a great actor, but she brings something to the table which other performers don't. She has a charm about her, a sweetness that makes her performances good to watch - but unfortunately, that doesn't apply to this film. Sitting there in the screening I was struggling to keep myself alive, I had Al Qaeda on the other end of the phone(CIA, MI5, FBI, DOD, Navy, Army, it's just a joke, STAND DOWN) to aid me in my quest to rid my life of the bore that was Easy A. Okay, so it wasn't all that bad, I just...didn't get it. Sure, it was funny a couple of times, but not enough to keep me entertained. It's [Easy A] constant references to 80's teen flicks didn't aid it's cause one bit, instead made it seem a cheap knock off of all the 80's movies stuck in a really cheap blender, but then the blender exploded and set on fire, then it was mixed with really old milk and cheese, then I was forced to drink that shit. That don't taste good. I'm telling you, man. It was just a huge cliché, nothing ever happened, the performances were quite flat, and left nothing to be desired. Just OKAY. 4/10, oh yeah. I went there. Kazed Ooooh- but wait- What made this film that little bit watchable? Stanley Tucci.

Disney Pixar's Up review - Lola's take

Spoiler Inside SelectShow
Disney movies are just perfect. Pixar movies are spectacular. Add the two together and what do you have? Ok you have Finding Nemo, Monsters inc, The Incredibles and a whole host of other incredible movies; But surely after a while those at Disney Pixar have got to run out of the magic potion they must use to create such masterpieces? Evidently not. Up is just glorious. In every aspect. The story line is slightly deeper this time round, touching the topic of miscarriage even, and the charming beginning scenes which show the life of Ellie and Carl Fredericksen are tearjerking even to the coldest of hearts. If you haven't found your soul mate when you watch this film, i guarantee you'll start the search after seeing the cute montage of their life together. The film centres around Mr Fredericksen after the death of Ellie, who by this time is an elderly man, and a young over eager wilderness explorer, Russell. The juxtaposition of the two characters make for an entertaining storyline when Mr Fredericksen decides to float his house to Paradise Falls, which was a lifelong dream for his former wife, unaware of the visitor he has on his porch as he takes flight. This film will please both children and adults whether in 3D or 2D. The setting is beautiful, the music is charming, and by the end of it you are left with a wonderful fuzzy feeling in your heart. This has fast become my favourite Disney Pixar movie yet (although it was a tough call between this and Monsters Inc…) A delightfully charming 8/10 from me. Bravo Disney Pixar, Bravo. Lola x
