New trailer for Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey

Source: FirstShowing.net This is some great stuff right here. It follows Kevin Clash - The Voice of Elmo. Yes, the Elmo of Sesame Street. Check this brilliantly put together trailer: Being a filmmaker, I find what Clash said toward the end of this trailer quite inspirational: "If everybody else your age is doing something very different to what you're doing, there's always going to be somebody saying "you might not succeed", "you might not make any money with that" and all of those things will go away if you really focus on what makes you happy" Great stuff right here.

Kazed Reviews: Kevin Smith's Red State (2011)

Synopsis: Set in Middle America, a group of teens receive an online invitation for sex, though they soon encounter fundamentalists with a much more sinister agenda. I've waited a long time to see this film, and I finally got a chance to see it. No no, I've waited a long time to see a Kevin Smith film, and I'm glad I got a chance to see it. This was undoubtedly much more different than his past exploits, and it didn't feel like a Kevin Smith film(If you've seen any of the pre-Zack and Miri films, you'll get it). The concept of the film is interesting enough, but I couldn't help but feel a slight bit let down. It contained elements to make the film as entertaining as it could be, like guns, action, preaching about the Bible, and gratuitous violence. Okay, maybe not the Bible part, but the inclusion of it gave it a sense of purpose. The reference to the folks over at the Westboro Baptist Church was a nice touch, and the differences between them and the Cooper Family in Red State are.. well, guns. Smith himself has stated that he drew inspiration about the infamous Kansas family, and the resemblance is uncanny. Anyway, John Goodman, Michael Parks and Melissa Leo all played their respective roles beautifully. Just them being on screen for a minute and you can tell they're all season veterans in this business. Michael Parks portrayed the sinister pastor with great aplomb; from the moment he was at the altar to the moment he was holding the firearm, every moment he was on screen it was clear to me that nobody could have played this part better than Parks himself. Likewise with Goodman, his role as ATF Agent Keenan was obviously a conflicted character, more so toward the end, but his monologue in the court room after the big scene between the government agents and the Cooper family was a beautifully scripted scene, and the emotion that Goodman delivered was phenomenal. Red State was a fast-paced, violent-but-beautiful addition to Smith's long legacy of cult classics, and a film which could possibly be his strongest, though not my favourite. Will I be buying the DVD/Blu-ray? Hell yes. Performances: 8/10 Plot: 8/10 Visuals: 7/10 Dialogue: 9/10 Overall: 8/10

I like the way this looks. Sure, it may look like a typical rom-com type dealie, but the cast is something to admire. Crazy Stupid Love releases in September. Kazed

New red band trailer for Kevin Smith's Red State (Mature audiences only)

I've been following this for some time now, and being a huge fan of Kevin Smith's, I'm a fan of anything he does. This film is completely different to anything he's done in the past, and it shows. It looks like it could top his past films(that's saying a lot, for me), and with the great cast this film has, it looks like it could garner a good amount of attention. Only problem, however, is that this film will only get a limited release, so only a select few theatres will get to see this baby... There's always thepiratebay*... Second Screening - Entourage

So, after Martyn introduced the idea of 'Second Screening' to the site, I figured what better time to talk about this then now. Initially, while Entourage was airing over in the states, I was aware of it's existence, but hadn't actually given it a chance. It was only until this year, during it's seventh season that I started to watch. It was actually Muni who introduced me to the show, so I figured why the hell not. Let me summarise the show for you. It revolves around an already relatively famous actor, Vincent Chase(portrayed by Adrian Grenier), who travels everywhere with his entourage (big surprise, eh?). His entourage comprises of his manager, 'E' who has been Vince's best friend since they were kids, Johnny Chase, Vince's Z-list actor brother, and Turtle, the driver/slave boy. Jeremy Piven, playing Vince's agent, Ari Gold is an amazingly humorous character, and most definitely the highlight of the show. His over the top offensive attitude is hilarious to watch, especially when at the expense of lesser characters. The premise is simple enough; basically what Hollywood is like from an actor's perspective (and immensely entertaining too). Almost every episode has a guest star ranging from 50 Cent to Mandy Moore, to Seth Green, Anna Faris- the list literally goes on and on. What interested me the most about this show was the electric chemistry between the primary cast members and how their relationships evolve throughout the series. Although some of the performances were lacking a few times, it didn't detract from the brilliantly concocted story lines and guest appearances. With the final season just around the corner and a film being talked about after the end of the series, Entourage is definitely one to watch, especially if you like seeing the glamorous Los Angeles full of the facades they call celebrities. No I kid, but still, it's an interesting insight to how the film/tv industry/Hollywood is from an actors perspective. Not saying it's a 100% accurate, but you never can tell. This gets a 7/10 Kazed
