Muni on TV: Made in Chelsea, An Idiot Abroad, Celebrity juice, Entourage & Wilfred

Made in Chelsea Ah UK TV, how you never seem to disappoint me. Made in Chelsea came back onto our screen last week, and we got to see how the rich people live, again. Haha don’t get me wrong, as much as some of the people on this show annoy me, I still watched this show for its sheer over the top lifestyle, annoying accents and their pitiful attempts of having issues that we should care about.  The second series introduced us to some of the familiar faces as well as introducing some new faces, most notable ones were Jamie (a friend of Spencer), Hugo, Chloe (Ollie’s new girlfriend. That’s right from being gay to then being confused then getting a tan, he’s decided to go back to women). Gabriel is still as annoying as ever and you can clearly tell she still hasn’t gotten over Ollie, really?!? I swear I saw a name of one of the people called Gabalicious, seriously? Anyway expect the same relationship issues, awesome scenery, lovely clothes and the same relatively dull scenarios, which will undoubtedly make you cringe. Enjoy the filth factor. 7/10 An Idiot Abroad Karl Pilkington needs to have a camera on him 24/7, as he is the funniest man on earth, hands down, no one comes close to him. An Idiot Abroad series 2 started and this time Ricky and Steven have sent Karl around the world trying to tick off some of the things off a bucket list. In the first episode Karl chooses to spend time alone on a desert island, sounds simple right? Well Ricky and Steven, as always, have things up their sleeves to annoy Karl on his journey. I was laughing in bits by the some of the things Karl come out with, and he’s being serous, he never says anything in a jokey way, and that’s where the joy lies in watch a middle-aged man doing something he hates and being half-hearted when doing things. I honestly think the show sells itself and there’s no need for me to write anything more. This is an amazing show and very funny to watch. 9/10 Celebrity Juice Keith Lemon was back a couple of weeks ago with the new series of Celebrity Juice, and as usual it didn’t disappoint. This show has been running for a while now and I mean there’s really not much I can say. It has a cult following with loyal fans who tune in every week to watch it. Some of the things that come out of Lemon’s mouth is downright stupid and silly, and at times hilariously genius. “Mot mot,” anyone? Anyway back to the show its crude funny and outrageous, but a fun watch- you’re bound to laugh out loud. 8/10 Entourage 8 episodes is just not long enough in my opinion for a final season of Entourage, however I would say I wasn’t left disappointed in how the show ended. Vincent Chase, Drama, Turtle, E and Ari were back for a final run, which could be resulting in a movie in the near future, look out for that one. This show from day one has never disappointed me, I want to hopefully one-day work in LA in the film or TV industry and this show encapsulates everything there is to know about the Hollywood industry. I love the realness of the characters and in season 8 you feel part of the “entourage” and go on a journey with Ari trying to get back together with his wife, with Turtle, who wants to make it on his own. Even Drama and his TV show, you want him to succeed. The thing that did disappoint me was E and Sloan, don’t get me wrong its always wonderful seeing Emmanuelle Chriqui on-screen, but it felt that the writers could have left the 'will they won’t they' arc out for the final year. It was nice to see Vincent take a backseat after his meltdown at the end of last year. That was the only downside to the final season, I really do hope they make a movie as it would be difficult to never know what’s going on with their lives. A great end to an illustrious show. 9/10 Wilfred I love that a few months ago when I was surfing the web trying to find new shows to watch that I stumbled across this show. When I watched the first episode I was hooked a great concept, a fantastic cast and a lovely story, now the shows even being aired in the UK on BBC 3. Well its good to see the show finally come to an end, I don’t mean that in a negative way, it’s come to the end, and should be granted a second season, I can't see it not getting one. Anyway, I love that there’s always some sort of moral or message behind each episode as it opens with a quote or a saying. I love how Wilfred always ends up getting Ryan (played by Elijah Wood) into trouble, and somehow seems to succeed. I’m looking forward to next year to watch the new season, and see where the writers go from here. 8/10

Muni on TV: Top Gear, Sirens, Spartacus, Made in Chelsea and Wimbledon

Sirens Channel 4 Series 1 To start of this weeks TV review, I’m going to begin with this new comedy/drama about 3 paramedics driving around in an ambulance and saving lives. When I first saw the trailer for the show I honestly thought this was a comedy as I found it really funny, plus with the addition of Kayvan Novak (fonejaker/ facejacker) I didn’t really think much of it. However after watching the first episode (which is an hour long) I have to say I found it amusing, intriguing and decent watch.  I’m just basing this on the first episode, but the characters are not your usual type, which is good as they bring something different, and the writing is funny when it needs to be. I didn’t like the fact that its an hour long, I know that is silly to say but I honestly thought this was a half hour comedy show, it is much more then that, and right now I don’t know how to take it. I’ll review this again at the end of the series to see how I have taken to it. 6/10 Top Gear BBC2 series 17 So top gear is back with Clarkson, Hammond and James, and its your usual mix of cars, women, celebrities, challenges and the Stig! There really isn’t anything more I can say as its been sunning for so long, the show has its core fan base and a large following. However what I will say is this, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Don’t get me wrong yes it was entertaining but I guess it wasn’t anything new, I was expecting the same moments form previous series. However I will say this it doesn’t really need anything new or anything to change, it is what it is and it works. 6/10 Spartacus: Blood and Sands FX? A few weeks ago I started watching Spartacus, I had it on my hard drive given to me by a friend, and they had recommended it to me but I kept putting it off. Well what an idiot I was for putting it off, this show has everything and more, bloody, sex, violence, and special effects, but overall it has a fantastic and captivating story. You see the lives of men turning into gladiators, and one man in particular, Spartacus.  The characters in the show are amazing, there are too many to choose from and that’s why I believe this sow works so well. The story is well told and it’s just so entertaining and fascinating to watch. This is just a one of series, but there is another Spartacus, which is a prequel, I will review that in the future.  I would highly recommend this show if you’re a fan of Roman mythology or even a good show then you would truly enjoy this. 8/10 Made in Chelsea E4 Series 1 Let me just start off by saying that I am a fan of “The Hills” and those types of shows, teen/ young adult reality. So when I saw a trailer for this I was intrigued to see what this would be about. The premise of the show is pretty simple following the trials and tribulations of 20 something rich people living in Chelsea, (a well off part of London).  The first episode was good it established the core characters and the drama that would be played out during the course of the first series. However the more the show went on the more ludicrous the show went. I hated watching some of the people on the show, people like Francis, Ollie, Cheska, Binka, Mark-Fancis, the list is endless. I thought I would enjoy seeing what these people lived like but the more I watched the show the more I felt sorry for these people. They are obnoxious, unbearable pompous dicks! There just a bunch of spoilt arrogant pretentious people who have the money but I wouldn’t want to be their friend as they just come across as shallow and dull and insecure. I’m truly disappointed by the lack of chemistry between the couples and honestly don’t think this is worth watching. 4/10 Wimbledon Finally a quick little post on Wimbledon, it has been a compelling watch the past two weeks and it looks’ like Murray is not going to be in the final, (I am writing this whilst watching the match). My safe bet is on Sharapova to win the Women’s final and for the men’s, I’ll have to go with Djokavic. I hope you’ve enjoyed watching it as much as I have and good luck to everyone who is in the final. 8/10 On next weeks review, I will be going through Lead Balloon (which I was going to review this week but its not the series final), The Sopranos and anything else that I might be watching, Peace Follow me on Twitter Twitter.com/munikazi

Muni on TV: 6 shows I've been watching

First and foremost I would like to start of my apologising for not writing on here every month as I has intended to, third year of university took more out of me then I thought it would, but now that I’m home and unemployed, I got time on my hands so I'll be reviewing TV shows and movies a lot. Enjoy, and if you want me to talk about shows that you think I should then let me know in the comments below. Peace! Made in Chelsea – E4 So I’ve been watching this on E4, it’s like the British version of, “THE HILLS,” yes it has your clichéd characters and storylines filmed as a documentary. There’s already a show on ITV 2 called, “the only was is Essex” and you may think this is like that, and in a way it is, but it is so much better. It is shot in a better style then the latter, and does a good job to keep the viewer interested with better storylines.  I would recommend it if you’re a fan of the hills and such program one for the ladies but always a fun watch. The Apprentice UK – BBC 1 So were five weeks in and I don’t know what season we're on (seven?) anyway this that being said this time around the contestants have a chance to go into business with Alan sugar. We have our usual candidates: brash, annoying, funny, winners and losers. There’s no one who stands out at the moment but Jim is doing a good job mind controlling everyone in the house. Apart from that, Kazed likes Melody, worth a watch if you’re a fan. Lead Balloon – BBC 2 The fourth season of comedy show led by Jack Dee only started last week and already had me in fits! I love this show the dry humour and the relationship Jack’s character has with the rest of his family is amazing. The first episode was very funny and the pig was very cute. Would recommend this to anyone who loves Jack Dee and his honour. Geordie Shore – MTV Jersey shore spin off, based in Newcastle has the same premise off Jersey Shore 8 housemates get together and live in an ultra luxury apartment, they get pissed and pull lads and birds. The show is pretty self explanatory but if you liked Jersey you will enjoy Geordie, with there unique slang and way of life its always a fun watch. Game of Thrones – HBO So HBO have come leaps and bounds over the past few years, with amazing shows like the Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, and now Game of thrones, this fantasy drama staring Sean Bean has it all: Great story, fantastic actors and is beautifully shot. If you like shows like the ones previously mentioned then this is definitely one for you.  A great story that I would recommend to anyone who wants to watch a good show over the summer. Tough Enough – USA Better late then never, there’s only one more episode left on TE, but don’t let that stop you from downloading (the legal way) the past episodes and watching them. This show has been away for a while but its back with a new host and new trainers. The cast themselves are amazing to watch with a Miss USA in there too! If you’re a wrestling fan and enjoyed the previous seasons then you will definitely love to watch this. Muni.
