Lola Reviews: Captain America (2011)

I have to write a review about this movie, as I thought it was spectacular. I have seen however, that some others beg to differ (Kazed - grr) and I suppose in a way this could be seen as an argument for the movie, rather than a review. But who the hell cares, I'm going to do it anyway. This movie was always going to be a little bit awesome, just for the simple fact that it's about Captain America. He's awesome, he's american...and ladies, he's really sexy. Casting Chris Evans as Steve Rogers was a genius touch, as we see in the beginning of the movie he can look equally dorky as he can look majestic. Dorky Steve Rogers was brilliant. My sister watched the movie with me and until I pointed it out she had absolutely no idea that the body didn't belong to the actor. Awesome. I really liked the rest of the casting, especially Dominic Cooper playing Howard Stark (Swoon!). Hugo Weaving as Red Skull was a nice touch also, playing the villain role exceptionally well, as he usually does. The story itself was magic in that it was simply and brilliantly a comic book movie. It didn't try to stay within the limits of what people might conceive as believable, instead it was ridiculous and unbelievable, but also awesome - like every comic book is. I could go on about the movie, but I know i'm going to just blab on and on. Basically, it's a great comic book adaptation. And if you're still on a high from the Thor movie, make sure you stick around until the end for a super exciting teaser trailer.... 8/10 Ps Sorry for the excessive use of the word 'awesome', but once you see the movie i'm pretty sure it'll be the one word you use to describe it :) :)

Marvel plans 'Doctor Strange'

So for those of you who don't know, Doctor Strange:
“Doctor Strange can use magic to achieve virtually any effect he desires, such as telepathy, energy blasts, teleportation, astral projection, the creation of materials (such as food and water), creating planet-wide protective shields, restoring himself from bodily destruction, or resurrecting the dead. Strange is capable of stopping and reversing time on a planetary scale, sealing black holes, restoring universes, absorbing power enough to unconsciously destroy any surrounding galaxies, growing to the size of and merging with universal concepts, and helped to channel the mass of the entire Marvel Universe.”
So Marvel have received scripts from directors Thomas Donnell and Joshua Oppenheimer, and I guess we're waiting on some word on that. Sounds pretty cool, but, is it viable? I mean, the dude can do basically everything. Might be a little overkill, I think. Another factor is, how many seats are Marvel looking to fill for this? I'm not sure how many average moviegoers know about Doctor Strange and his strange ways, but I can't imagine it being too many. Kudos to Marvel if they're aiming this towards the fans of the comic, but how much is that going to reel in? Don't get me wrong, I commend them for trying to cater to the fans, but isn't everything done for 'good business' these days? Just sayin'     Source: Best For Film Kazed

This looks SO badass. His resemblance to his comic book counterpart is uncanny. Beautiful. Behold, Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull.

Holy shit on a stick. X-Men: First Class Trailer ARRIVES.

Couple of weeks back, I posted a few images from Matthew Vaughn's newest flick, X-Men: First Class. Now, the literally-just-been-released trailer is here. And hot damn does it look good. Such a huge change to what we've been used to, it looks like this could be a winner in my books. But as usual, I'll reserve judgement til I see it. Kazed

Last night was the Superbowl, and guess who won? That's right, MARVEL.
Not a lot there to judge, but from what I can see, it looks great, but who knows, it could suck complete balls.
