Cast revealed for Clash of The Titans sequel...*SIGH*

I don't even understand why this film made as much as it did. It was terrible. But, there were people out there who liked it, and WB can't argue with the results it garnered. Anyway, here's the synopsis for the film, along with some casting news:
A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.
Whatever, you know? I can't believe a part of me was excited for the first film. In my defense though, the trailer did look pretty badass. It's actually quite funny; the fact that the original film was made eons before any of this '3D' shit existed, years before the Fleshlight, but it still held up pretty well- it still does, to this day. But that's how it is. You hand a child a ball with a trillion dollars, he's gonna make shit for a film. Not that's an exaggeration. It wasn't that bad, it had good FX, but it's got nothing on the original. Check out my review HERE. Kazed

Clash of The Titans (2010) review

Synopsis: The mortal son of the god Zeus embarks on a perilous journey to stop the underworld and its minions from spreading their evil to Earth as well as the heavens. Clash of The Titans. A remake of the 1981 classic. Although I wasn't a huge fan of the original, when compared to against the 2010 remake, the former takes the cake. This film was most probably one of, if not THE worst 'epic' I have ever seen. Now don't get me wrong, the effects impressed me, there were certainly scenes which I thought looked great, (notably the scene in which Perseus is racing through the streets of Argos to re-claim the head, and in the background the Kraken could be seen; It looked quite impressive.) something you'd expect for a film of this calibre, but despite all of this, I found Titans to be mundane and quite honestly, something which ultimately fails to deliver. There were several instances which made me question what Leterrier was trying to do; whether he was going for a remake or one of those 're-imagining' things they do so much of these days. I'm aware that generally remakes are supposed to be different, but I wasn't asking for a shot for shot remake, there were just certain elements in the original which I felt should have stayed in the new film (The mechanical owl, the trident on Calibos' hand). I won't say this was the worst film I have ever seen, because it wasn't. It was an epic which ultimately falls short of the reputation the classic has built up. Clash of The Titans was an average mythological outing which entertained me for the best part of the film- the opening titles. I'll address the 3D- What a waste of the surcharge on the ticket. Utterly disappointed with this remake of the classic 1981 film, decent visuals and lovely score make it a little better. 5/10
