Trailer for Human Centipede 2 (2011)

Tom Six, director of 'the Human Centipede' promised that his return would make his first endeavour look like 'My Little Pony', and with the outright ban from the BBFC of the film, it looks like he wasn't lying. The trailer for the second 'full sequence' is built on what you don't see, it uses extracts from the letter sent by the BBFC to the film makers, put together with images of reactions to the footage. Actors or not, the trailer is a horror fan's dream. The film franchise can be slated for continuing the bad nature of the so-called 'torture porn' genre, but it's ban in the United Kingdom came with the warning that the aesthetic and nature of the film posed true danger to an audience, so it must be cranking up the elements of horror to a new level. See the trailer here: The teaser trailer for the second film actually made me chuckle, being called Martyn and all, give it a peek see below: What are your thoughts? Has horror truly gone too far? Are the BBFC right to tell the public what they can and cannot see? Is this all an over hyped bluff?

First Trailer for Carnage (2011)

Roman Polanski is one for controversy, whether it be his life and the tragedies and mistakes throughout the years, or the content and attack of his films, he has made more than a name for himself. His latest film, 'Carnage' is the simple yet ingenious story of four parents thrown together as their children are involved in a fight at school. The film boasts a tremendous cast, with Jodie Foster, John C Reilly, Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz fighting it out in one flat. Here's the trailer: From the trailer, its clear to see that this film is going to be a treat for those with a darker sense of humour, so if you're going to give 'The Inbetweeners' a pass, you can trade in the crude and boyish charm for this rich, awkward mess of emotions with dialogue aplenty. Carnage is based on the play 'God of Carnage' by Yasmina Reza, and is due out in America on the 16th December 2011, so expect a confirmed date for the United Kingdom to fall shortly after.

John Carter (2012) teaser trailer

With all the trailers this week, you would think that the studios are trying to tell us something! It would probably sound something like 'go and watch this', but whatever, we here at Movieville just want to keep you up to date. We've had Sherlock Holmes, The Dark Knight Rises, Hugo, The Thing in the space of just two days! now here's another: John Carter, Disney's next shot at a live action franchise comes to life in this short yet poignant teaser. Accompanied by a decaying rendition of Arcade Fire's 'My Body Is a Cage' howled by Peter Gabriel, the visuals take us through many beautiful landscapes populated by interesting characters. If I had kids (not a hint Lauren) I'm sure they would be waiting eagerly for this. It just feels like a film I would have been crazy about, just being excited by the idea of the cinema, let alone the film I'd see just doesn't happen anymore, yet this reminds me of when I would watch the teaser for Toy Story, and beg to go. John Carter you have snuck into my good books on the basis of my nostalgia and acceptance of nerdy story lines, please don't disappoint!!! John Carter hits cinemas on the 9th of March 2012 in both 2d and 3d

Hugo (2011) gets a trailer!

Martin Scorsese' next film, 'Hugo' now has a trailer, but what do you think of it? it feels like a mixed up teaser trailer for a small indie film has been pushed through the system and ended up as an unfinished final trailer. Sasha Baron Cohen's character hardly amuses, and this trailer from the mastermind behind 'Taxi Driver' among others' feels like it's had a knock back before it's even had time to get going. Trailers cost a lot of money for studios, and when they're bad it is a shame, almost unintentionally casting a shadow over the film. A team in advertising has cleared this, and their work is a representation of a legend's latest film, so hopefully their edit of the footage for the trailer isn't a true to source piece, and this teaser is forgotten in due time.       It may sound like I'm being spiteful, but it is a set back, as I've personally been looking forward to the next film from one of my inspirations in life. It's Scorsese's first attempt in 3d, it's a child's Christmas film, and it's from the man who gave us the atmosphere in 'Gangs of New York', 'Raging Bull' and Goodfellas', This trailer just doesn't convey to me what I thought it would Hugo is set for a release this year on December 2nd in 3D and 2D. What do you think about the trailer?
