Muni on TV: Made in Chelsea, An Idiot Abroad, Celebrity juice, Entourage & Wilfred

Made in Chelsea Ah UK TV, how you never seem to disappoint me. Made in Chelsea came back onto our screen last week, and we got to see how the rich people live, again. Haha don’t get me wrong, as much as some of the people on this show annoy me, I still watched this show for its sheer over the top lifestyle, annoying accents and their pitiful attempts of having issues that we should care about.  The second series introduced us to some of the familiar faces as well as introducing some new faces, most notable ones were Jamie (a friend of Spencer), Hugo, Chloe (Ollie’s new girlfriend. That’s right from being gay to then being confused then getting a tan, he’s decided to go back to women). Gabriel is still as annoying as ever and you can clearly tell she still hasn’t gotten over Ollie, really?!? I swear I saw a name of one of the people called Gabalicious, seriously? Anyway expect the same relationship issues, awesome scenery, lovely clothes and the same relatively dull scenarios, which will undoubtedly make you cringe. Enjoy the filth factor. 7/10 An Idiot Abroad Karl Pilkington needs to have a camera on him 24/7, as he is the funniest man on earth, hands down, no one comes close to him. An Idiot Abroad series 2 started and this time Ricky and Steven have sent Karl around the world trying to tick off some of the things off a bucket list. In the first episode Karl chooses to spend time alone on a desert island, sounds simple right? Well Ricky and Steven, as always, have things up their sleeves to annoy Karl on his journey. I was laughing in bits by the some of the things Karl come out with, and he’s being serous, he never says anything in a jokey way, and that’s where the joy lies in watch a middle-aged man doing something he hates and being half-hearted when doing things. I honestly think the show sells itself and there’s no need for me to write anything more. This is an amazing show and very funny to watch. 9/10 Celebrity Juice Keith Lemon was back a couple of weeks ago with the new series of Celebrity Juice, and as usual it didn’t disappoint. This show has been running for a while now and I mean there’s really not much I can say. It has a cult following with loyal fans who tune in every week to watch it. Some of the things that come out of Lemon’s mouth is downright stupid and silly, and at times hilariously genius. “Mot mot,” anyone? Anyway back to the show its crude funny and outrageous, but a fun watch- you’re bound to laugh out loud. 8/10 Entourage 8 episodes is just not long enough in my opinion for a final season of Entourage, however I would say I wasn’t left disappointed in how the show ended. Vincent Chase, Drama, Turtle, E and Ari were back for a final run, which could be resulting in a movie in the near future, look out for that one. This show from day one has never disappointed me, I want to hopefully one-day work in LA in the film or TV industry and this show encapsulates everything there is to know about the Hollywood industry. I love the realness of the characters and in season 8 you feel part of the “entourage” and go on a journey with Ari trying to get back together with his wife, with Turtle, who wants to make it on his own. Even Drama and his TV show, you want him to succeed. The thing that did disappoint me was E and Sloan, don’t get me wrong its always wonderful seeing Emmanuelle Chriqui on-screen, but it felt that the writers could have left the 'will they won’t they' arc out for the final year. It was nice to see Vincent take a backseat after his meltdown at the end of last year. That was the only downside to the final season, I really do hope they make a movie as it would be difficult to never know what’s going on with their lives. A great end to an illustrious show. 9/10 Wilfred I love that a few months ago when I was surfing the web trying to find new shows to watch that I stumbled across this show. When I watched the first episode I was hooked a great concept, a fantastic cast and a lovely story, now the shows even being aired in the UK on BBC 3. Well its good to see the show finally come to an end, I don’t mean that in a negative way, it’s come to the end, and should be granted a second season, I can't see it not getting one. Anyway, I love that there’s always some sort of moral or message behind each episode as it opens with a quote or a saying. I love how Wilfred always ends up getting Ryan (played by Elijah Wood) into trouble, and somehow seems to succeed. I’m looking forward to next year to watch the new season, and see where the writers go from here. 8/10

Muni on TV - 5 US shows that are going to be huge this year

New Girl So Bhav has already reviewed this show in depth and said everything that I wanted too, its worth a read, so I’d say go have a look at it. I will say that I’ve been looking forward to this show when I first heard about it. Zooey Deschanel as a quirky, nerdy, cute hart broken woman who moves in with 3 guys is in it self a wonderful concept. The pilot episode was very well put together; it introduced all the characters and gave a warm feeling to the characters. However, I think I already know how this show will end, it’s a shame but I’m not complaining, simply observing. I got a feeling this is going to be a huge show and will gather a big following, I’m not sure anyone in the UK has picked up the rights yet, but they should. People get on this bandwagon! I’m in love 8/10 2 Broke Girls I remember a few months back I saw the trailer for a this show, and I was intrigued. I have a little crush on Kat Dennings, (but I have a HUGE crush on Zooey), regardless, I gave this show a watch, and when it first started it took me a while to get into. Towards the end I was surprised by how much I got into it and liked it. The show follows two waitresses Max (played by Dennings), a young woman who lives in Brooklyn with her boyfriend and works two jobs just to get by, and Caroline (played by Beth Behrs), a rich girl from Manhattan who’s broke after her father gets done for scamming other people, who ends up getting a job in the diner. The show has some room to grow and towards the end both girls have a goal, which will be the arc of the first season. I’ll definitely watch a few more episodes and see if I get into it. A solid 6/10 Up All Night Another comedy for you to get your teeth into, Up All Night is about a couple who have their first baby and how they cope with parenthood as well as their jobs and bringing up a child. The show stars Will Arnett and Christina Applegate, as the budding new parents. Both are very funny, and I was actually laughing out loud in the two episodes that I’ve seen. I like Arnett he is ridiculously funny and really is the star of the show. The show also stars Maya Rudolph, as Ava who is Christina’s character, Reagan’s boss. She brings a different but funny dimension to the show, which is perfect. The actors all work well together and have a lot of charisma on screen. I honestly think this is going to be one of the funniest shows on TV, definitely one to get into and watch. A lovely 7/10 Terra Nova Right, that’s all the comedy done, now to look forward to the epic hour long drams that will have us hooked for the next 8-9 months. I’m going to start with Terra Nova. Now I want to quickly state that this show hasn’t aired yet on TV, it will be aired tomorrow and I’ll be watching it on Tuesday and will give a full review then. However, for now I will say that this: from the trailers that I’ve seen, Terra Nova is going to be a big show, something like Heroes and Lost. The show centers on the Shannons, an ordinary family from 2149 (when the planet is dying) who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization. I got a feeling that this show is going to gather a huge cult following and, if it is well written and has a good arc over the first year its going to be a big hit with the audiences. Also there will be dinosaurs! How lovely. A killer 7/10 Pan AM The final show which I’m going to say is going to be huge in 2011 – 2012 season was tough. I don’t watch a lot of hour-long drama unless they’re really good. It was a toss up between Pan AM, a period drama set in the 50’s about the airline industry and the glamorous life that came with it, or The Playboy Club set in the 60’s about another glamorous side being in the infamous Playboy Club and about the bunnies. I’ve seen, The Playboy Club and will review this shortly, but what I would say about that show is that, It felt like the show was trying too hard to be like Mad Men, and it was failing in all departments. However I haven’t seen Pan AM yet as it airs tomorrow, so I’m just basing it all on trailer and from what I believe will make a good show. I love period shows, I’m a huge fan of Mad Men Boardwalk Empire, and the Kennedys so this should theoretically be up my street. However, this is going to be to network television which comes with a lot of rules it has to follow, meaning it’s not as free as HBO or AMC (cable networks), which are given free reigns on what they can do. I’m glad this isn’t another cop show, medical drama, or legal production. We will have to wait and see what kind of reaction the show will get, but I have a feeling it will be a positive one. A flying 7/10

Muni on TV: Another 4 shows I've been watching

TV REVIEW Angry Boys BBC3 This show by Australian writer actor Chris Lilly is a mockumentary comedy that attempts to show the lives of average Australians. If you every watched his other show summer heights high, then you will enjoy this. I actually did watch that show and found it entertaining and funny, however whilst I was watching this I actually started to get bored by its lack of originality and was not entertained. The characters are a very one-dimensional and honestly would not recommend it, my verdict give it a miss really not worth it. 5/10 Shameless US  More 4 I’ve been a fan of the original UK one and as always I’m very sceptical of remakes of any shows, however from looking at the adverts that have been running on TV I believe that this may just be a hit. William H Macy in the lead role looks like a perfect fit as Frank. The show looks like they’ve stayed close to the story and characters and believe that this show is going to be a hit. My verdict is that watch it alone and the advert and I hope it lives up to it. 7/10 The Kennedys BBC2 The Kennedys are quite possibly the most famous US presidential family in history, and now we get to see there lives unfold in this fictional show. With a star studded cast and excellent writing and directing, the show follows the rise of JFK and how he came in to power as well as the issues he faced whilst he was in office. My verdict is that this is definitely worth a watch, with a great ensemble of cast and a fantastic story I believe that this is worth a watch. 8/10 8 Out of 10 Cats Channel 4 I’ve always been a fan of this show and I’m glad it’s coming back, the same host Jimmy Carr and regular guest patterns. This alone is worth watching it and if you’re stuck indoors on a Friday night then give it a watch.  There’s not much I can say as the show sells itself, if you’re a fan of comedy then this is a show for you. My verdict is, watch it and love it. 7/10 Muni.

Avatar hits the $1BN mark in Box Office sales

Only four films in box office history have ever reached the £1 Billion mark(Titanic, LOTR: Return of The King, Pirated of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and The Dark Knight, respectively), and now Avatar has joined the 'elite top 5', if you will. Currently in 4th place, and having been in theatres for only 17 days in theatres, one has to wonder how much more Avatar can make. I thought this was interesting. It deserved a place on Movieville. It got it. Kazed
